We Must Make Sacrifice For Anambra To Develop - Igwe Egwuọnwụ Tells Ndị Anambra In Diaspora

The Traditional Ruler of Umuawulu in Awka South Council Area of Anambra State, Igwe Joel Egwuọnwụ has reminded ndị Anambra living in the diaspora of the need to channel resources towards the development of their homeland.

Igwe Egwuọnwụ made the call in his palace while speaking to the press on Governor Chukwuma Soludo's call for concerted efforts towards enthroning a liveable and prosperous Anambra.

The Umuawulu Monarch maintained that heeding the call is for the good of the state, as such, all should contribute their own fair share.

He praised the Governor for doing so much within such a short period in office in the area of infrastructure and economic empowerment, with particular reference to road construction and the palm and coconut revolution.

He said that the ongoing Ekwulọbịa flyover will be a major game changer when completed because the area is usually a nightmare during festive seasons due to traffic gridlock, stressing that Governor Soludo has shown political will to execute such laudable projects.

Igwe Egwuọnwụ who compared the level of insecurity before the inception of Governor Soludo and the appreciable progress his administration has made, pointed out that without security, there will no peace or development.

While stressing that positive criticism is imperative for meaningful development, Igwe Egwuọnwụ called on the Governor to pay no mind to negative criticisms.

He wondered where the Governor got the resources to do what he is doing and encouraged him to continue to come up with innovative programmes or projects.
While saying that the traditional institution has always been part and parcel of governance in Anambra, Igwe Egwuọnwụ canvassed for more empowerment for the traditional rulers as custodians of grassroot government, assuring of continued support for the Governor in tackling insecurity.
